Prenatal Care
- Check-ups once a month or more often, the whole time you are pregnant.
- Tests to check your health and your baby’s health, such as urine, blood or ultrasound.
- Help finding resources for you, like WIC or Behavioral Health Services.
- Information on pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and baby care.
- Help with how to eat healthy foods.
- Help with how to quit smoking, drinking, or using drugs.
- Help with talking about your family issues and needs.

In celebration of Black Maternal Health Week, Baywell Health, a trusted pillar in the community since 1967, is proud to announce its partnership with BabyLiveAdvice. This alliance marks a significant step forward in addressing the pressing needs of Black and Brown communities in Alameda County by providing accessible virtual maternal and infant support. The virtual maternal and infant support program officially launched on April 8, 2024.

Meet Dr. Lasha Pierce, MD, OBGYN,
Interim Chief Medical Officer, a West Oakland native with 20 years of service to the community. Dr. Pierce earned a B.S. in Physiology from San Francisco State University and a medical degree from UC Irvine, completing her OB/GYN residency at Kaiser San Francisco with additional midwifery training from Bay Area community midwives.

she specializes in advanced wound care and management.
